Integrative Therapy

What is Integrative Therapy?

You might be wondering what "integrative therapy" actually means—and whether it's right for you. Let me explain in plain language.

An integrative approach simply means I don't use just one fixed method. Instead, I draw on a range of proven, practical approaches and weave them together to fit you – as a unique person.

Think of it as creating a support system that's tailored to your history, your personality, what you're struggling with now, and what you hope for in the future.

This means I might:

  • Use person-centred principles to build a safe, trusting relationship
  • Bring in cognitive-behavioural techniques to help shift unhelpful patterns
  • Apply attachment theory to make sense of your relationships
  • Introduce gentle awareness of the body to help you reconnect with yourself

Every tool I use is chosen with the whole person in mind – mind, heart, body, and life context.

Above all, you are the expert on your own life.                                                                                                                                                                            My role is to walk alongside you, offering support and guidance as you grow and change.

Why This Approach Works So Well

You might be wondering why integrative therapy is different—and why it might work for you.

This approach works so well because it meets you where you are. There's no rigid formula, no one-size-fits-all plan. I start with you – your life, your struggles, your strengths.

It honours your full complexity. Life isn't just thoughts or just feelings. It's relationships, physical experiences, history, hopes, and fears – all at once. I hold all of that with you.

It evolves as you do. What helps in a crisis may be different from what supports long-term growth. I adjust alongside you, so you're never stuck in a way that no longer fits.

It gives you practical tools for life – not just for our sessions. The insights and strategies we explore together stay with you, long after we've finished working together.

It builds deep trust. You'll experience me actively listening, adapting, and respecting your pace. Over time, you'll feel safe enough to explore even the hardest things.

And it works for a wide range of concerns – anxiety, loss, burnout, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

I also work in a trauma-informed way, which means I am aware of how trauma affects the body and mind. I work gently and at your pace. You are always in control of what we explore and when.

You don't have to talk about anything you're not ready to talk about.
